Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius of Lithuania

On November 25, Premier Li Keqiang of China met at the Dongshan Hotel of Suzhou City with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius of Lithuania, who was in China to attend the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).

Li Keqiang expressed that China-Lithuania cooperation has yielded fruitful results and Lithuania is the largest trade partner of China among three Baltic countries. Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries and it is hoped that the two sides should take it as an opportunity to expand communication and cooperation so as to push the China-Lithuania friendship to a new stage. Both sides should dock development converging points, strengthen cooperation in Eurasia transportation connection and jointly facilitate cooperation in China-Europe freight-train network, as well as railway project and construction of ports and industrial parks in the Baltic Sea region. It is hoped that both sides can strengthen cooperation in RMB settlement in cross-border trade and e-commerce, and expand trade in agricultural products as well as communication and cooperation in culture, education, tourism, local affairs and other areas.

Algirdas Butkevicius congratulated China on the success of the 4th Summit of China and the CEEC, and expressed that China is an important cooperative partner of Lithuania. Both sides have made much progress in political, economic, cultural and educational cooperation. Lithuania is willing to, together with China, continuously strengthen bilateral political dialogue, promote practical cooperation in areas including trade and agriculture, and jointly celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and China next year.
