The Chinese Embassy Held a Reception to Celebrate China's National Day and the 25th Anniversary of China-Lithuania Diplomatic Relations

On September 28th, 2016, H. E. Ambassador Wei Ruixing and his wife, Madam Gu Yaoqin, hosted a reception to celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of China-Lithuania Diplomatic Relations at Vilnius Radisson Blue Hotel. About 350 people, including government officials, members of the Seimas, leaders of the commercial and business community, members of the Diplomatic Corps and representatives of the Chinese community in Lithuania, attended the reception. Among them are Mr. Algirdas Sysas, Deputy Speaker, Prof. Vytautas Landsbergis, Chairman of the Supreme Council (Reconstituent Seimas) and his wife, Mr. Rimantas Vaitkus, First Deputy Chancellor of the Government, Vice Ministers of National Defense, Culture, Transport and Communications, Advisers to the President, the Speaker and the Prime Minister, Deputy Director General of Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, Director of Lithuania-China Business Council, etc.

       

H. E. Ambassador Wei addressed the reception. He reviewed the glorious 67 years since the Founding of the People's Republic of China, highlighting the remarkable achievements China has made in economic development and social undertakings. He said that China's development can not be separated from the world while the development of the world also needs China, stressing that China will firmly follow the road of peaceful development, continue to implement the strategy of opening to the outside world for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation, and is ready to work together with the rest of the world for peaceful international environment and common prosperity.

         

The Ambassador reviewed China-Lithuania diplomatic relations of the past 25 years, saying that the past 25 years witnessed continuous development of the friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, which have brought tangible benefits to the two peoples. There have been frequent exchanges of high-level visits and meetings, which have enhanced mutual political trust between our two countries, trade and economic cooperation between the two countries have been accelerated, and cooperation in other areas has been expanded both in depth and scope, and there have been frequent people-to-people and cultural exchanges, promoting mutual understanding and friendship between our two peoples. The Ambassador stressed that the Chinese Government is ready to work together with the Lithuanian Government and people, taking the 25th anniversary as a new start-point, to expand and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields between China and Lithuania, so as to lift the bilateral ties to a higher level and bring tangible benefits to the two peoples.

       

The guests applauded China's remarkable economic and social development, commended the important role China has been playing in international affairs, and expressed that they will make unremitting efforts to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Lithuania.
