Ambassador Wei Ruixing hosted a Thank-You Reception

On April 25th, 2017, H. E. Mr. Wei Ruixing, Chinese Ambassador to Lithuania, hosted a Thank-You Reception at Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square to celebrate the successful visit to the Republic of Lithuania by H. E. Mr. Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China. Over 100 guests, who were involved for the preparation and execution of the program of Chairman Zhang's visit, attended the reception. Among them are Hon. Arvydas Nekrošius, Deputy Speaker of the Seimas, Prof. Kęstutis Glaveckas, Deputy Chair of the Committee of Budget and Finance of the Seimas, Mrs. Daiva Raudonienė, Secretary General of the Seimas, Mr. Arnoldas Pikžirnis, Adviser to the Prime Minister for National Security, Foreign and Domestic Policies, H. E. Mr. Petras Zapolskas, Director of State and Diplomatic Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Artūras Žukauskas, Rector of Vilnius University, and friends from Office of the President, Office of the Prime Minister, Office of the Seimas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, VIP Protection Department, Kempinski Hotel, Vilnius International Airport, Vilnius University, Chinese enterprises and the Chinese Association in Lithuania, etc.

                 

When making his remarks, Ambassador Wei said that thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, Chairman Zhang's three-day visit to Lithuania concluded with complete success as had been expected. "During the visit, Chairman Zhang held bilateral talks with Speaker Viktoras Pranckietis, and met with H. E. President Dalia Grybauskaitė and H. E. Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis respectively. The leaders had in-depth exchange of views on further developing the bilateral relations between our two countries for the benefits of our two peoples, strengthening China-EU relations, China and Central and Eastern European Countries Cooperation, as well as on international and regional issues of common interest, and reached important consensus", said the Ambassador, and stressed that Chairman Zhang's visit to Lithuania, which was the first official visit to the Republic of Lithuania by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China since the establishment of China-Lithuania diplomatic relations, promoted mutual understanding and consolidated mutual political trust between China and Lithuania and gave an impetus to the enhancement of exchanges and cooperation between the two legislatures, the expanding and deepening of pragmatic cooperation in all fields and the promotion of healthy and steady development of China-Lithuania relations in the years to come. Ambassador Wei expressed his deep appreciation and sincere thanks to the Seimas and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the relevant government departments and institutions, and all those who made great efforts and contribution to ensure the success of Chairman Zhang's visit.

                

Responding to Ambassador Wei's remarks, Prof. Kęstutis Glaveckas extended his congratulations on the success of Chairman Zhang's visit and thanked the Ambassador for hosting the reception. "Chairman Zhang's official visit to Lithuania, which is a milestone in the history of the exchanges and cooperation between the two legislatures, has promoted mutual understanding between the two peoples and the healthy development of bilateral relations between the two countries", Prof. Kęstutis Glaveckas said, and expressed the hope that both sides should take Chairman Zhang's successful visit as an opportunity to work together to further strengthen the pragmatic cooperation in various fields between the two countries.

                

The guests applauded Chairman Zhang's successful visit to Lithuania, shared their experience of coordination and collaboration before and during Chairman Zhang' visit, and expressed that they will consolidate the existing good working relationship with the staff of the Chinese Embassy and make unremitting efforts and greater contributions to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Lithuania. The reception went on in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
