Remarks on Seimas's discussion about the so-called Xinjiang human rights issue by the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy
2021-04-23 19:10

On April 22, the Seimas discussed the so-called human rights issue of Xinjiang in disregard of China's solemn position as well as facts and truth about Xinjiang. It is an anti-China farce choreographed by some anti-China individuals intended to smear China. The Chinese side firmly opposes and strongly condemns it.

The discussion, addressed by anti-China politicians, scholars and defected Uyghur living abroad, gives full floor to lies and slanders about Xinjiang, thus presenting no fairness or authenticity. It is bound to ignite strong indignation of the whole Chinese people including Ugygurs in Xinjiang, as well as to be spurned by countries and peoples with conscience and sense of justice.

In times when Xinjiang was subject to terrorism and religious extremism, which seriously threatened the basic rights of life and health of people in Xinjiang, there was not any western country, organization or individual calling for fighting terrorism and safeguarding human rights of Xinjiang people. Today, with improved people's livehood and social harmony and stability, Xinjiang is at the best of human rights that it has ever been. Nonetheless, the anti-China forces are sparing no efforts nowadays in hyping up the so-called human rights issue of Xinjiang as well as maliciously attacking and slandering China, which are purely distortion of facts. Their true aim is to meddle in China's internal affairs under the pretext of human rights,  tarnish the image of China, to undermine China's stability and to contain China's development by leveraging the so-called human rights issue of Xinjiang. These ulterior moves are doomed to fail.
