Wu also expressed his gratitude to Venezuela for sticking to the one-China policy.

Wu said China's NPC attaches importance to the friendly exchanges and cooperation with the Venezuela's National Assembly (AN) and would like to promote exchanges at all levels and give further play to the roles of the Friendship Groups so as to contribute to the constant deepening of China-Venezuela friendly and cooperative relations.

Chavez thanked China's understanding and support for Venezuela over the years, indicating that his country pays plenty of attention to and thinks highly of China's development. He hoped to exchange views with Chinese leaders on Venezuela–China relations during the visit to further bilateral ties.
