Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman of Israel

On December 19, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman in Jerusalem.

They both spoke highly of the development of bilateral relationship in recent years. They agreed to carry on China-Israel traditional friendship, seizing the current opportunities to advance the bilateral cooperation on all fronts.

The two foreign ministers agreed on the following, 1) Fully affirm the progress of the intergovernmental cooperation mechanism. Agreed to start the connectivity of working groups as early as possible. Confirm the areas and projects of cooperation. To carry out mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation on new fronts. 2) To strengthen people-to-people exchange. Agreed on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, and based on this, to start as soon as possible the consultations on 72-hour visa exemption for the transit nationals of the two countries, to start the consultations on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders, so as to provide more convenience for the bilateral personnel exchange. 3) To encourage more direct flights from each other as people-to-people exchanges between the two countries keep increasing. 4) To bring labor cooperation onto an orderly and legal track and sign related agreements as early as possible. 5) China will comprehensively deepen reform and will expand opening-up. This will provide better environment for Israeli companies to invest and start their business in China. The Israeli side agrees to take a more flexible and more open attitude to technology transfer to China. 6) Israel is willing to seize the current opportunity for peace and will try hard to reach a peace agreement with Palestine. China is appreciative and supportive in this aspect. 7) To further enhance communication and consultation on policies between the two foreign ministries.
