Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin Meets with Delegation of Members of Parliament of Nepal

On February 26, 2014, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin met with a delegation of members of Nepali parliament, who was visiting China at the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.

Liu Zhenmin extended congratulations on the smooth process of the Constitutional Assembly election and form of the new government in Nepal. He said that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and are closely related to each other like lips and teeth. The Chinese government attaches high importance to its friendly relations with Nepal. China has always supported Nepal's efforts to safeguard national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese side highly appreciates the Nepali government's long-term adherence to the One China policy, and is ready to join efforts with Nepal to advance the mutually beneficial cooperation and elevate China-Nepal comprehensive cooperative partnership featuring ever-lasting friendship to a higher level.

Ramesh Lekhak, head of the Nepali delegation, highly praised Nepal-China relations, and extended gratitude to China for the long-term assistance and support to Nepal. He hoped that both sides can continue to deepen friendship and cooperation. Lekhak said that the Nepali government, political parties and the people firmly adhere to the One China policy, and will never allow any force to use Nepal's territory to conduct anti-China activities.
