On March 4, 2014, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao met with German Ambassador to China Michael Clauss. Wang Chao said that China-Germany relations now enjoy a good momentum of development, with close exchanges of high-level visits and remarkable results in cooperation in political, economic, trade, people-to-people and cultural fields. China attaches importance to developing relations with Germany, and is willing to continue to diversify, enrich and upgrade the substance of the bilateral relations, so as to promote China-Germany relations to another new level.

Michael Clauss said that the German side is willing to join the efforts with China to well accomplish the relevant work of recent high-level mutual visits, so as to promote the rapid and comprehensive development of Germany-China practical cooperation in various fields.
