Second Meeting of Joint Inter-Ministerial Mechanism Held to Discuss and Deploy Emergency Management on Incident of Missing Malaysian Flight

In the afternoon of March 9, the Joint Inter-Ministerial Mechanism on safety protection of Chinese citizens and institutions abroad held the second meeting. Chief officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Transport, China Coast Guard, Civil Aviation Administration of China, the State Council Informatization Office, the Office of Emergency Management of the State Council and other departments, as well as the Chinese armed forces and Beijing municipality were present. Foreign Minister Wang Yi chaired the meeting.

The participants of the meeting summarized the latest update of the works in all aspects and discussed the works for the next step. It is required at the meeting that all departments concerned should take their own responsibilities, strengthen communication and coordination with each other, and continue their utmost effort for the search and rescue mission and timely release of authoritative information.
