On March 13, 2014, Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin and Minister of the Cabinet Office of the Government of Mongolia and Chairman of the Ports National Council Chimed Saikhanbileg held consultations on China-Mongolia border port affairs in Beijing. The Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport, the General Administration of Customs, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the Port and other departments of both countries and relevant local government have representatives present.

Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on building, managing, increasing numbers and upgrading China-Mongolia border ports, as well as on establishing bilateral port cooperation mechanism and other topics. Both parties said that they will continue to push for the further deepening of ports cooperation and create more facilitation for bilateral economic and trade cooperation and personnel exchanges.
