On March 18, 2011, Assistant Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Robert O Blake held the first round of China-U.S. consultations on Central Asian affairs since the launch of the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue Mechanism. Both sides exchanged views in a friendly atmosphere on issues including the situation in Central Asia, the SCO and the situation in Afghanistan.
