On May 2, 2013, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talk with his Indonesian counterpart Marty Natalegawa at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry in Jakarta.

Both sides agreed that the two sides are strategic partners and their bilateral relationship still has much room and potential to develop. Both sides should seize the opportunity, strengthen strategic communication and cooperation, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all aspects in an all-round way and fully tap the energy and potential in the China-Indonesia relationship, so as to benefit the two countries and their people as well as contribute to the peace and development in the region and the world.

Both sides agreed that the two countries should continue to maintain high-level exchanges as well as dialogue and consultations at multiple levels, and push for balanced and rapid growth of bilateral trade. China will encourage its enterprises to participate in the development of the six major economic corridors in Indonesia, expand investment in the fields of infrastructure, resources and energy, manufacturing and agriculture and accelerate the construction of mineral processing industrial park. Both sides should give full play to the role of the maritime cooperation mechanism and fund, implement pragmatic cooperation on navigation safety, marine scientific research, fisheries and satellite applications and play a leading role in maritime cooperation in the region. Both sides should be committed to advancing defense and security cooperation, continue to carry out youth, media, think tanks and tourism exchanges, consolidate the basis of public opinion for the friendship between the two countries, support each other in international and regional affairs and strengthen cooperation in the United Nations, the G20 and other international organizations. China would also fully support Indonesia in holding the 2013 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
