On January 6, 2014, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng (concurrently Director-General of the Protocol Department) accepted the copy of credentials presented by newly-appointed Indian Ambassador to China Ashok K Kantha. Ashok K Kantha arrived in Beijing on January 5.
