On November 16th, 2016, Mr. ZHANG Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China, extended congratulations to the newly-elected Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Prof. Viktoras Pranckietis.

In his letter of congratulations, ZHANG Dejiang expresses that the legislative bodies of China and Lithuania have maintained close contacts and exchanges in recent years, which have played a positive role in strengthening China-Lithuania bilateral relations and in promoting the friendship of the two peoples.

ZHANG Dejiang underlines that NPC is ready to work with the Seimas of Lithuania, taking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of China-Lithuania diplomatic relations as a new start-point, to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, so as to push forward the continuous development of China-Lithuania friendly and cooperatively relations.
