On February 1, 2005, Vice Minister Zhang Yesui met with visiting US Ambassador for Disarmament and the President's Special Representative for Nuclear Non-proliferation Affairs Jackie Sanders. Zhang briefed him on China's peaceful foreign policy, noting that China's development needs a long-term stable external environment. China would like to enhance cooperation in various fields with the international community, including the United Stated. While elaborating China's views on the 2005 Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty Review Conference, Zhang stressed balanced nuclear disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful utilization of nuclear energy are three vital issues for the success of the review conference.
