On the morning of February 21, 2005, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui held consultations with visiting Secretary General Bjarne Lindstrøm of the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Zhang made positive remarks over China-Norway relations, saying China would like to further expand and deepen bilateral relations. Lindstrøm indicated Norway-China relations are witnessing sound development and the Norwegian side would like to conduct cooperation with China in various fields such as politics, economy, trade, culture and education. The Norwegian government would continue to uphold the one-China policy. The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on important current international and regional issues.

Secretary General Lindstrøm and his delegation arrived in Beijing on February 20 for a 4-day visit at invitation.
