The Fourth Round of China-EU Strategic Dialogue Is Held in Beijing

On January 19, 2009, the fourth round of China-EU strategic dialogue was held in Beijing. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Hui held the dialogue with the EU "Troika" delegation headed by Tomas Pojar, First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, EU rotating president country. Both sides exchanged candid and in-depth views on China-EU relations, as well as the international financial crisis, the Middle East situation and other global and regional issues of common concern. Both sides held that against the backdrop of the complex and volatile international situation, strengthened China-EU dialogue and cooperation is not only conducive to sound, stable development of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, but also to safeguarding world peace, stability and prosperity.

The first China-EU strategic dialogue was held in London in December 2005. The second round of strategic dialogue was held in Beijing in June 2006 and the third round was held in Lisbon in October 2007.
