Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying Meets with Ildiko Lendvai, President of the Hungarian Socialist Party

On March 19, 2010, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying at request met with a visiting delegation headed by Ildiko Lendvai, President of the Hungarian Socialist Party, in the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Fu made positive comments on China-Hungary relations and appreciated the Socialist Party for showing understanding and support for China. She urged the governments of the two countries to actively encourage exchanges between their businesses, pledging that China will support Hungary expanding cooperation in China's western region. She hoped that Hungary will continue to contribute to the development of China-EU relations.

Lendvai said that the Hungarian Socialist Party attaches great importance to developing ties with China, firmly adheres to the one-China policy and is committed to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with China in all areas. Hungary, which will hold the EU’s rotating presidency in the first half of next year, is ready to continue to play a positive role for sound, in-depth development of EU-China relations. Lendvai pledged that Hungary would like to actively expand cooperation in Chongqing.

Fu also briefed on China’s economic and social development.

Lendvai and her delegation are visiting China at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC.
