DPRK Leader Meets with Delegation of Chinese Foreign Ministry

On July 30, 2010, Yang Hyong Sop, Vice President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) met with a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue in the Mansudae Assembly Hall, Pyongyang.

Yang Hyong Sop said that under the direct care of the leaders of the two countries, DPRK-China friendly relations are being further consolidated and developed. The DPRK side is ready to work with China to push forward bilateral exchanges and cooperation in all areas.

Hu said the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government attach great importance to ties with DPRK. It is an unswerving policy of the CPC and the Chinese government to continuously consolidate and develop good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation with DPRK. China is ready to work with DPRK to push forward bilateral ties and bring more benefits to both countries and their peoples.

Hu and his delegation arrived in Pyongyang on July 26 for a visit at the invitation of DPRK Foreign Ministry. During the visit, the assistant foreign minister met respectively with responsible officials from the DPRK Foreign Ministry and the International Affairs Department of the WPK Central Committee, exchanging views on China-DPRK relations and issues of common concern. On July 29, Hu also laid a wreath at a cemetery for martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) in Pyongyang and cherished the memory of the martyrs.
