Yu Zhengsheng Meets with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso

On the afternoon of April 8, 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso at the Great Hall of the People.

Yu noted that China and Peru are both developing countries and the development of their friendly cooperation based on mutually beneficial principles serves both the realistic and long-term interests of the two nations and two peoples. "China is willing to make concerted efforts with the Peruvian side to consolidate political mutual trust and deepen cooperation in the agricultural, mining and infrastructure sectors," Yu added. China is ready to expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges with Peru and promote the continuous development of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. He also pledged that the CPPCC will intensify friendly exchanges with the Peruvian side and play an active role in promoting bilateral relations in a bid to make the friendship more deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples and create more benefits for the two peoples.

Humala said China is one of Peru's most important cooperation partners, suggesting the two nations further tap potential of cooperation and foster cooperation in such fields as education, culture, trade and investment so as to further push forward the existing sound bilateral ties.
