Li Yuanchao said that the purpose of his visit is to deepen friendship, to increase mutual trust, to broaden cooperation and to promote development. China-Argentina strategic partnership has made substantial progress in recent years, with frequent high-level exchanges, increasing political trust and firm mutual support on issues concerning each other's core interests. Both sides have conducted fruitful cooperation of mutual benefit on energy, resources, finance, infrastructure and agriculture.

Li Yuanchao noted that stronger exchanges and cooperation between China and Argentina is very significant as both countries are actively transforming their models for economic development. First of all, the two countries should strengthen exchanges in various fields and deepen mutual political trust. Leaders of the two countries need to keep regular contacts and the Governments, legislative bodies and political parties of the two countries should strengthen communication. Second, cooperation between the two countries should be enhanced and the common development should be boosted. Consensus needs to be reached, as soon as possible, on a joint action plan between the two Governments and a mechanism for cooperation and dialogue between the economic supervision departments, so as to mark out and coordinate cooperation in various fields. Both sides should properly resolve the difficulties and problems in the specific cooperation projects, implementing the existing projects and continuing to expand areas of cooperation. The two countries should adhere to the principles of mutual benefit and win-win results, properly handle mutual concerns through dialogue and establish an exchange and consultation mechanism in the field of trade remedy. Third, multilateral coordination needs to be enhanced to safeguard common interests. The two countries would step up strategic cooperation in multinational organizations and mechanisms, such as the United Nations, the Group of 20, the World Trade Organization and the "Group of 77 (G77) plus China". Fourth, the two countries would promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and enhance traditional friendship. The both sides will continue strengthening exchanges in the fields of culture, education, science and technology, sports and tourism, as well as boost military, judicial and local governmental contacts, and at the same time, offering full support for the exchanges between the young people and the academic institutions.

Boudou said that this is the first time that a Chinese Vice President visits Argentina since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries. He noted that President Cristina Fernandez held long hours of talks with Mr. Vice President, and it has been very fruitful. He expressed appreciation for China's support to Argentina's claim for the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands. Argentina will firmly uphold the One-China policy, explore practical cooperation with China in infrastructure, agriculture and other fields, and seek a comprehensive development of the bilateral strategic partnership. Argentina values China's role in international affairs, hoping that the two sides may strengthen coordination on major international and regional issues so as to safeguard the common interests of emerging economies.

After their talks, Li Yuanchao and Boudou attended a signing ceremony of cooperation agreements on justice, agricultural trade and quality inspection between the two countries.
