On October 1st, 2017, H. E. Ms. Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania, extended congratulations to H. E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, on the occasion of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China.

"I firmly believe that relations between our two nations, developed in the spirit of mutual respect, at both the bilateral and the EU levels will ensure collaborative work in dealing with common economic, climate and other challenges, and will also promote people-to-people contacts as well as new opportunities", President Dalia Grybauskaitė said in her Message of Congratulations, and noted that the recent years saw a growing interest by the citizens of Lithuania and China in their respective countries and cultures, which resulted in increased academic and tourist exchanges, closer cooperation in education and transport, expanding trade, and stronger business ties.
