Li Zhaoxing Talks over Phones with His Pakistani Counterpart

On October 10 2004, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing made a phone call to Pakistani Foreign Minister Kasuri and expressed that the leadership, government as well as people of China are very much concerned about the situation of the two Chinese engineers that have been kidnapped and asked the Pakistani side to continue to take any measures that are necessary to rescue the Chinese engineers and ensure their safety.

Kasuri noted that Pakistan and China are friendly nations. The two Chinese engineers are brothers of the Pakistani people. The Pakistani Government attaches great importance to this issue and will spare no effort to rescue the persons of the Chinese side regardless of price.
