Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jiuhuan Goes to Hospitals to Visit Chinese Citizens Injured in the Tsunami Disaster

On the morning of December 30, 2004, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jiuhuan went to Bangkok Hospital and Bangkok BNK Hospital to visit 2 Chinese citizens injured in the tsunamis that hit the southern part of the country. At present the two injured have been well treated and cared, and are in stable conditions and in the process of recovering. Ambassador Zhang expressed sympathy to them, hoping that they would be able to recover as early as possible. He said, "the embassy is your home and the staff of the embassy are your families. Do not hesitate to let us know whenever you have difficulties and we will try out best to help you." The two injured thanked Ambassador Zhang for coming in person to the hospitals to visit them and expressed gratitude to the embassy for the careful arrangements. On December 27, the ambassador's wife, Tang Lizhen, also went to Bangkok Bumrungrad Hospital to see another Chinese citizen injured.

As of December 30, 13 Chinese citizens were injured in the tsunami disaster in Thailand, most of whom have been discharged from hospital after recovery. All of them have received good medical care in Thailand.
