On May 11, 2010, the United Nations Pension Fund Investment Committee held a meeting in China for the first time and Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin was invited to the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Liu elaborated the relationship between China’s development and world peace and development and stressed that China pursues an independent foreign policy of peace, sticks to the development path characterized by opening up and win-win cooperation and makes contribution to world peace and development through its own development. He also answered the questions of journalists on China’s population policy, investment policy and energy resources.
